Toubkal Circle via Azzaden

The complete Toubkal loop: valleys, waterfalls, high passes & summit

About this Route

A circular route that avoids the standard out-and-back, approaching Toubkal from the west through the beautiful Azzaden Valley. Three days of variety: waterfalls, Berber summer pastures, the dramatic Aguelzim Pass crossing, and the summit push, all in a loop back to Imlil. Better acclimatisation and far less traffic than the classic route.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

5–6 hours | ~750m ascent, ~240m descent. Westward trail to the Tizi Mzik pass with panoramic views, then descend through juniper forest into the Azzaden Valley. Pass Berber farmsteads and the Ighouliden waterfalls (tallest in Toubkal NP) before reaching the summer pastures of Azib n'Tamsoult. Overnight at refuge or camp.
