West Ridge Traverse
A demanding alpine traverse along Toubkal's West Ridge to Imouzzer
About this Route
A serious mountaineering objective first climbed in 1936 by J. de Lepinay. The route traverses the West-North-West Ridge (Arête ONO) of Toubkal, continuing over Toubkal West (4,030m) and Imouzzer (4,010m). Sustained Grade III/IV climbing on volcanic rock with abseils, virtually no in-situ protection, and long hours above 4,000m. Infrequently climbed, expect solitude and full self-reliance.
Day-by-Day Itinerary
5–7 hours. Standard Mizane Valley approach through Aroumd and Sidi Chamharouch to the refuge. Gear check, technical briefing and acclimatisation overnight.
