About this Route
The most direct and iconic ascent of Jebel Toubkal. Day one takes you from Imlil through the Mizane Valley, past the Berber shrine of Sidi Chamharouch, to the Toubkal Refuge at 3,207m. Day two is summit day, up through the South Cirque on steep scree to the Tizi n'Toubkal col (3,940m), then along the summit ridge to the roof of North Africa.
Day-by-Day Itinerary
5–7 hours | ~1,470m ascent. From Imlil, trek south through Aroumd (1,920m), cross the floodplain and follow the Mizane Valley upward. Pass Sidi Chamharouch shrine (2,310m), the last inhabited settlement. The trail steepens into a long zigzag climb to the Toubkal Refuge at 3,207m.
